CURRENT

On Friday 12 of May 2017, the solo show "Conquista reloaded"with a completely new series of works will open at the Museo Municipal de Arte Moderno in Cuenca (Ecuador). All works were developed during the last 9 months (images to follow). The exhibition is open until 16. oif July, 2017 and will be transferred to the Museo de la Ciudad in Quito (Ecuador) where it can be seen from August 3 to mid of September.

Since April 2017, I am as well postdoc scholar at Bauhaus University Weimar.

In April 2017, two lectures of mine at the University for Applied Art in Vienna were published in the Anthology "Aisthesis", edited by Marion Elias.

The Ph. D. thesis “Kunst und Krieg in Langzeitkonflikten. Visuelle Kulturen im Dreißigjährigen Krieg und im heutigen Afghanistan” (“Art and War in long-term Conflicts. Visual Cultures during the thirty Years' War and in Afghanistan today”) was published in March 2016 at Dietrich Reimer Verlag, Berlin.

Since June 2016, the catalog for my Ph. D. exhibition, “Wartifacts. Gewalt und ihr Abbild in Langzeitkriegen” („Wartifacts. Violence and its effigy in long-term wars“ is available from ACC Gallery Weimar or from me directly.

Until September 28th, some of the works from the “Poems from Herat” series, a cooperation with the author Massum Faryar and the artists and calligraphers Faramerz Sarwari, Khalil Roein and Amir Mohammadi, can be seen in the exhibition “Interweavings. Orient – Occident” in the “Galerie 2. Stock” in the town hall of Dresden.

On October 2nd 2016, a stained glass window for the protestant church of Frankenstein (Palatine) will be inaugurated.

UPCOMING PROJECTS

At the moment, I prepare the show "Conquista reloaded" for the Museo Municipal de Arte Moderna in Cuenca (Ecuador), to be opened in May 2017.

In January 2018, the solo presentation "TraumaTransfer" will be shown at Mannheimer Kunstverein.

A lecture about archeological draftswork and artistic research will be held at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna in November (the exact date will be published soon).
